Meet Coach Barrington

Justin has coached high school and grassroots basketball for the last twenty years. The relationships he has forged have allowed for easy accessibility to collegiate coaches and programs throughout the USA. With former players now coaching at both collegiate and professional levels, the network of opportunities continues to grow.

Players he has helped place at the collegiate level won a national championship at the Division 2 level. Another former player was the rebounding record holder at a Division 1 university. At the NJCAA level he has former players that have won national championships at the Division 1 and 2 levels as both players and coaches.

While directing the Illinois Bears Basketball program, his network of college connections has expanded coast to coast and all levels of collegiate athletics. He's helped players participate in the NCAA tournament at the Division 1, 2, and 3 levels — in addition to a seven-year stretch of players participating in the Division 1 or 2 NJCAA nationals.

He has spent eight years with Pure Sweat Basketball running camps, clinics, college and professional workouts during this time period. His knowledge of the collegiate and professional level has helped him place over 200 players to colleges and universities in the United States. He has worked the NBA Draft Combine multiple times and helped with three NBA lottery picks' pre-draft workouts.

As a player, Justin ranks in the top 20 in Illinois High School Association history for the most made three-pointers in a career. He played two years of junior college basketball and was named Academic All-American his sophomore season. He still holds the boys basketball scoring record at his high school. His wife, Brista, and he have three children: Drew, Dylan, and Belle.
